Dear Oceanlake Families and Community Members,
I have exciting news to share with you. Last year, the Lincoln County School District met with many people regarding the Student Investment Act (SIA) funds (part of the Student Success Act) and how it should be spent. Under the category Health and Wellness, the team determined to create area care teams with nurses and social workers to assist the schools and families with children that experience challenges with their success in school. The district has moved forward with this decision and plans on reassigning me to be the Health and Equity Administrator part time (.5) beginning January 4, 2021 and moving into this position full time in the fall of 2021. Dr. Mary Pitcher, the school’s current VP, will increase her duties for the rest of the year under my direction. Dr. Pitcher has been invaluable to our school community since she started here as VP last year. Her work with the staff, children and families has strengthened our school culture and building systems. I have full confidence in her leadership and care of our wonderful school. I will be at Oceanlake part time and the district office part time as I begin to dig deep into the creation of district wide care coordination teams as part of our SIA work. It has been my great honor and privilege to be a part of the Oceanlake School Family for the last five years. I look forward to continuing to serve the children and families in the north area in my new role.
Thank you
Sandy Mummey, Principal
